l’exposition du 18 mai,
l’étude Deburaux et son expert Aymeric de
Villelume présentent une très exceptionnelle
tapisserie des Gobelins,
« l’eau » de la suite
des quatre Éléments d’après
Charles Lebrun, entre 1663 et 1699,
porte la marque tissée de Jean Le Febvre, chef
d’atelier à la manufacture entre 1663 et
1699.

du 18 mai, l’étude Deburaux et son
expert Aymeric de Villelume présentent une
collection d’une centaine de
broderies marocaines des XVIII, XIX et début
XXème siècles, provenant de Rabat, Salé,
Chechaouen, Tétouan, Meknès, Fès, Azzemour,
Tafilalet. Des portières,
couvre-miroir, ceintures, couvre-lit, rideaux,
dessus de coffre, écharpe, coussin, nappes,
voile de mariée, kaftan, burnous, gilet,
etc…

Central Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India
(including chikan).

edition of Embroidered Textiles at
Dreweatts on the 22nd April.
Apart from some ikat pieces, the collection is of
embroideries and not textiles in general.
Most were acquired in situ on Sheila Paine’s
travels, all have been inventoried and labelled.
Further information and background ethnographic
material are available. All auctions are without
reserve.
