European Lace of six centuries July 14th to September 1st |
Handmade lace in different
techniques from six centuries and some machine lace will
be shown. Tere are also designs for handmade and for
machine lace, as well as traditional implements. The Hamburg "Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe" very kindly helped with loans. The German Lace Guild contributes with painted designs by A. Thümler and also with newly made lace from its members. On the day of the Vernissage, July 14th, from 3 to 6
pm. Gudrun Borck of Langen near Darmstadt will give a
short introduction. |

During opening times several
lace techniques will be shown. There will be experts from
Holland, Belgium and Germany. We are looking forward to
the visit of Marianne Stang, Uebach. This international
well-known expert will give a lecture with slides on 3rd

Das AMTSRICHTERHAUS SCHWARZENBEK ist ein unter Denkmalschutz stehendes Haus, etwa 250 Jahre alt und war bis 1968 Wohnsitz des Amtsrichters. Es liegt in einem zauberhaften weitestgehend naturbelassenen Park. Die Stadt erwarb es in den 80er Jahren und baute es für viel Geld unter den Argusaugen des Denkmalschutzes zu einem Kulturzentrum um. Die Ausstellung, Lesungen und Konzerte haben ein hohes Niveau. Nicht zuletzt aus diesem Grund ist Frau Strate immer wieder gern bereit, Objekte aus dem Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg hier zu zeigen. |
