• The Museum of Applied Art in Cologne was founded in 1888 at the instigation of enthusiastic citizens of Cologne and was supported to an important degree by the Kölnischer Kunstgewerbe-Verein (Cologne society of arts and crafts).The new director of this house since first of March 2010 is Dr. Petra Hesse.
• Due to financial problems the Textilbibliothek in St.Gallen, Switzerland will be closed in the end of 2010. A group of friends of the library is collecting signatures with the aim to find other solutions. Information: info@textilbibliothek.ch
  
• Establishment of Textile Conservation Center-Teaching and Research at Glasgow University.
  Preserving the fabric of the nation’s treasures for future generations, a new textile conservation centre is to be established at the University of Glasgow. The Textile Conservation Centre Foundation (TCCF) and the University of Glasgow have agreed to found the new teaching and research facility – the only resource of its kind in the UK – in the University’s Robertson Building. http://www.textileconservationcentre.co.uk/
